Went here in early June with my fiancé to celebrate one year being engaged as part of a trip to Spain and Portugal. This was such a great experience that it rivals the actual engagement. It was just the two of us along with Mayte and we had a great time from the moment we pulled up with the car to the moment we left. Mayte shared with us some amazing culinary details and secrets while also teaching us about the food culture in Spain. She accommodated our food preferences including my fiancés vegetarian diet, we had the gazpacho, stuffed mussels, and paella. We were also surprised with some wine and cheese at the start of the day and an amazing yogurt and strawberry dessert. 1000000% recommend if you do not come here you will regret it, from the amazing food to the beautiful scenery. One of the most authentic and immersive experience I’ve had the chance to experience in my life. Mayte is such a welcoming with incredible values that makes her a very special person to meet. I feel so lucky I got to experience a day of cooking with Mayte! It was the highlight of my trip to Malaga and my family loved it too - we took the cooking class together to celebrate my birthday. Wonderful experience with a wonderful cook! What a wonderful experience. My husband and I did this as a way to learn about the traditional foods of Spain, learn about the culture, and do it all in a wonderful setting. It was one of the first activities we did when we got to Spain. Mayte did not fail. It was so enjoyable visiting with Mayte, learning about the family farm, and enjoying wonderful food. Mayte explains where the recipes come from, what to look for when getting the ingredients, and tips on food prep and cooking, Mayte will tweak the recipes based on food restrictions, but it doesn't lessen the experience. The recipes were foods that I would have been scared to order before her class. Book this !! No complaints from me. Sad it’s over already … Book this !! What a great day. I actually booked my flights around this cooking day. And it was so worth it. As soon as you arrive, it feels like home. Mayte our host , is like a long lost friend. Her home is divine. Her hospitality second to none. !It was such a fabulous day. I’m sad it’s over. It’s was uncomplicated. We talked. Cooked. Relaxed midday with local cheese and meat.. and vino. Then… Cooked more. Talked more. And then all ate together .. chatting. Drinking wine. A wonderful day out This was far more than a cookery class. Mayte welcomed us to her beautiful mountain home about 10.30am. We left after 4pm feeling that we'd learnt much about the culture and tradition of Spain, both within Andalusia and beyond. The day was very well organised and we learnt to prepare and cook 3 delicious local dishes, all adapted, where necessary to dietary allergies. We feel confident that we'll be able to replicate the recipes at home (fingers crossed!) and Mayte provides written recipes to help us! Best of all, we ate each dish and a morning snack in Mayte's wonderful, sunny garden, accompanied by some very quaffable wine. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Day in Malaga Fantastic and welcoming experience to Mayte’s family home. She thought of everything and we cooked 3 dishes, delicious and well paced and enjoyed the beautiful home and learned more about the culture. A traditional Spanish Cooking Day We had a fantastic time. Mayte Fernández looked after us so well. Her house is a beautiful old Spanish family farm house set in the hills between Malaga and Almogia. We spent the day in Mayte's kitchen learning how to cook traditional Spanish dishes such as Ajoblanco ((traditional, creamy almond cold soup), Pisto and Pork tenderloin in Maderia sauce. Mayte can accomodate up to 4 people for a workshop and you get to chose the dishes that you want to learn how to cook aead of the day. Mayte teaches you about Spanish food and lifestyle as well as giving a tour of her home. Mayte is really knowledgeable and a great communicator and teacher.Once you have cooked all the dishes you then spend the remainder of the day eating the most delicious lunch with wine and soft drinks as part of the package. We (aged from 14 yrs to 56 years) all learned so much and had a thoroughly memorable day. Would highly recommend.

Approachable Spanish cooking in a beautiful and relaxed setting with an incredible and knowledgeable host. Mayte of course. She is warm, welcoming and full of interesting information about Spanish food, couture and the area of Malaga. Cooking experience I had such an enjoyable day at this cooking class. A lovely American couple and myself cooked in Mayte’s kitchen. We prepared a Malaga Salad, cuttlefish in almond sauce, meatballs in almond sauce and artichokes which I had never cooked. We enjoyed a relaxed break with wine and cheese on the veranda overlooking the olive trees. After finishing all the dishes we then sat down and enjoyed them. We would do it again! This day of cooking with Mayte was a standout of our stay in Malaga. A third person joined us and it was fun to meld the different menu wishes. Mayte was well organized and had the menu incorporating all preferences with all local ingredients ready. We all got to prepare a Malaga salad of oranges and cod adorned with spring onion, cuttlefish (sepia) in almond sauce and meatballs in almond sauce. We had a break for cheese &a tapa after preparing the ingredients. Lunch was on the patio and all was enjoyed! The setting is absolutely beautiful and we lucked out with a bright sunny day. Excellent cooking class My husband and I always do a cooking class in holidays, but after 6 years living in Spain we still hadn’t done a Spanish cooking class. A friend from Canada came to visit and found this class online. It was a fantastic day. Mayte the teacher is excellent. You aren’t just at a class, you are welcomed into her family home.
